JFK The Movie

Although I live in the UK I am fascinated about certain aspects of American history. The 9/11 tragedy for instance, the moon landing in 1969 and more than anything else, the JFK assassination.

Much has been said and several books written on the subject – including two that I have read, “On The Trail Of Assassins” and “Plausible Denial”

Even now opinion is divided, was John Fitzgerald Kennedy killed by a lone assassin, Lee Harvey Oswald or was his assassination part of a high level conspiracy, involving the CIA, The Mafia, the FBI and others.

JFK is a 1991 American political thriller film directed by Oliver Stone . … Entertainment Weekly ranked it the 5th Most Controversial Movie Ever …

The release of the movie “JFK” in 1991, directed by Oliver Stone, is rightly included as one of the most popular movies of all time and it brought more attention to the tragic event. More and more people, myself included, sat up and watched in awe what the movie was trying to portray. Could the President of the United States of America really be assassinated by the very same people who were there to serve and protect him?

I am not in a position to judge either way but suffice it to say, the movie has certainly become one of my most popular movies of all time and it is one that I have watched on several occasions.

A new JFK assassination movie is due to be released in November 2013 (to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the assassination) called “Legacy Of Secrecy” starring Leonardo DiCaprio. In the film to be released, DiCaprio is to play FBI informant Jack Van Laningham, who went deep undercover to find out information from organized crime boss Carlos Marcello, who reigned in Louisiana and most of Texas for decades. It was reported that Van Laningham did get Marcello to confess to ordering the infamous assassination.

The film for many will be fascinating while for others the cry will be “what, another JFK conspiracy theory”. For me it will be fascinating and compelling viewing.

For those that haven’t seen “JFK” the movie, I have selected a short video clip for you to take a look at below……
