They never had nannies like Mary Poppins where I come from. Julie Andrews played the role magnificently and around that time she was to many movie viewers a magical actress in several movies, some of which are heralded as among the most popular movies of all time. Dick Van Dyke hasn’t done too badly for himself over the years either.
Mary Poppins is another classic that has stood the test of time. I’m no TV program planner but I wouldn’t mind betting that Mary Poppins will appear on our screens a few more times between now and the end of the year.
